About Us

Sound Technology Services was founded in February 2011 by Brian Higgins to provide IT support services for small-to-medium businesses in all industries.

Higgins has been consulting on computer and IT issues since January 2003, when he, along with his business partner Phil Wright, founded Accent Consulting in Lafayette, IN. Accent quickly grew into a premier regional service provider, as well as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, the highest level recognized by Microsoft!

In 2005, Brian also founded an internet service provider, ForePoint Networks, with 3 other partners. After securing start-up funding, ForePoint grew quickly to cover nearly two and a half thousand square miles of rural Indiana with high speed microwave internet, and before long was recognized as the fastest wireless internet service provider in the state (arguably the most reliable, too).  That reputation eventually led an unable-to-be-refused buyout offer from Omnicity Corp., a competitor.

In 2008, Higgins sold his stake in Accent Consulting to his partner Phil and moved to Connecticut. Shortly after arriving on the East Coast, Brian was recruited by Netology, a managed service provider located in Stamford. Brian was hired officially as the Senior Network Engineer, and unofficially asked to help refocus and remake the business into a premier service provider. Within a few short months Brian succeeded in getting the company established as a Microsoft Certified Partner, began work on building a small data center for co-location and hosting services, established a better patch maintenance system, and performed many large system deployments and upgrades for clients, bringing their systems back to current, including some never before migrations from SBS 2000 to SBS 2008. As a result of these (and many other) efforts Brian was given the new title of Director of Managed Services and Data Center Technologies, in addition to the title of Senior Network Engineer. He stayed at Netology through spring 2010, when he left to pursue new projects.

One of these was The Hosting News, which he and another partner invested a majority interest in a few months prior. Under the new management, THN doubled in size in 6 months, but needed more development in the writing, editing and sales departments. Higgins sold his stake to minority partners in these areas in December 2010.

In January of 2011, while in the planning stages for Sound Technology Services, Brian was introduced to Microsoft MVP Amy Babinchak, and owner of Third Tier, an organization providing advanced level (Tier Three) support for other IT companies around the country. After a couple of phone calls with Amy and her business partner Eriq Neale,  Brian was asked to join the team at Third Tier.  Now in additional to supporting the clients of Sound Technology Services, Brian is also helping to support countless other IT companies clients around the world in their times of need.

In 2014 Brian founded Aditum, a comprehensive Multi-Tenant bandwidth management solution for property owners. Aditum uses a channel partner sales model, which requires partnering with other IT companies from around the world to implement the solution for property owners and managers.
